Regular classes: 1 hour a week
Cello lessons with Gabriel Falcade will take you through all the relevant technical and theoretical aspects of the instrument to provide you with a solid foundation and guide your development every step of the way. With individual instruction, the classes are adapted to match each student's unique needs and purposes.
THETEACHER
Gabriel Falcade is a Brazilian cellist who began playing the cello at the age of 13 at the Music School of Jundiaí, in São Paulo, Brazil. He studied cello at the Conservatory of Music and Drama of Tatuí and the São Paulo State Music School before getting his bachelor’s degree in cello performance from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP).
He has already been a part of the Tom Jobim Orchestra (Brazilian music), the São Paulo State Youth Orchestra, the Academic Orchestra of São Pedro Theater (Opera), and of the UNICAMP Cello Ensemble, group that collects performances in Brazil in festivals such as Campos do Jordão Winter Festival and the Rio Cello Encounter, and has recorded the CD “Cellos Without Borders”, followed by an ensemble’s tour in Los Angeles, California, through the Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival.
Gabriel Falcade also took part in fine ensembles such as the Jundiaí Municipal String Orchestra and the UNICAMP Cello Quartet, in addition to being director of the group “Cello Workshop”, offering free group practice open to all regional cello students.
After his experiences performing in Brazil and in the United States, as well as teaching and leading cello ensembles for 10 years, Gabriel Falcade moved to the UK to start a Master of Music in Cello Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where he is generously supported by Trinity College London and Paul Monk Scholarships.
